History
In the beginning...
The occupation of vine grower exists in our family since 1766 (older date of genealogical research), then the peasants exerted several trades, our large parents were a vine grower - barber, vine grower - farmers. The vine at the beginning of the century, did not nourish the families of the ground and the Champagne vine growers were in the large majority of the poor people trying to pay their invoice of provisions with bottles of their production their wines not being sold or little especially through trade, harvests were not as significant as today, the young vines and the pesticides as well as the technical training was much less advanced. The economic advent settled about the years 1970 with a good democratization of the Champagne consumption, undoubtedly related to the thirty glorious ones and in a campaign culture of the image without precedent, thus the Champagne of the property settled.
Giving
Our father and father-in-law Mr. Roger MASSONNOT, having continued the wine family vocation by melting her own exploitation and its Champagne mark, lasting 40 years, takes a well retirement deserved not without to have transmitted its large knowledge to make and love the trade to her daughter Sybil and her son-in-law Michel. The exploitation thus takes to life the 1ier July 1991, gradually, with the passing of years, work advancing the first Champagne bottles under mark "GAWRON MASSONNOT" was born in 1994, 1996 purchase of the property in POUILLON 9, street of Villers, making it possible to better manage the production of Champagne and to approach the pieces of vines.
Today
The meeting of two small-scale farming makes it possible to cultivate 2 small hectares of vine on two villages close in the "MASSIF de St Thierry", at the price of parcelling out of pieces and division, of succession, which results in 11 pieces of vines of age, type of vines and exposure very heteroclite making it possible to enrich our wines by diversity and character.
